Sujata Saunik becomes first woman Chief Secretary of Maharashtra

Sujata Saunik, who is an IAS officer of the 1987 batch, has become the first woman Chief Secretary of Maharashtra in the state's 64-year history. She will be succeeding Nitin Kareer, who retired recently. Saunik had previously served as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Affairs and General Administration departments in the state government.
