Sun may have swallowed a super-Earth billions of years ago: Study

A new study published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society suggests that the Sun may have engulfed a super-Earth planet billions of years ago. The incident may have "left a lasting chemical imprint deep inside the young Sun", a researcher said. The rocky world had a mass equivalent to that of 5 to 10 Earths.
