Dilip Shanghvi of Sun Pharma has overtaken Mukesh Ambani (57) of RIL as the richest Indian, going by the promoter holdings in the listed companies of the two groups. At Thursday's close of trading on BSE, Shanghvi's holdings are worth about Rs 1.46 lakh crore, in comparison with Ambani's holdings which is worth Rs 1.32 lakh crore.
