Sun releases flare comparable to 1 billion atomic bombs, pic surfaces

The Sun recently released a flare having energy comparable to one billion atomic bombs, SpaceWeather reported. A satellite picture of the same has surfaced online. The earth-orbiting satellites reported a C5-class solar flare, and NASA's Solar and Heliospheric Observatory observed a coronal mass ejection (CME) flying into space, SpaceWeather added.
