Sunetra Pawar elected NCP chief weeks after husband Ajit's death in plane crash

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar was elected as the new National President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), senior NCP leader Praful Patel announced on Thursday. This comes after Sunetra's husband and NCP leader Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash on January 28. Sunetra is the first woman chief of the party.
