Sunken Nazi warships resurface as heatwave reduces water level in Europe's Danube

Europe's intense heatwave has pushed the Danube River to exceptionally low levels, exposing Nazi-era German warships deliberately sunk during World War II. The resurfaced wrecks, some still containing explosives, pose navigation and safety risks. The drought also disrupted shipping, tourism and energy production. Large parts of southern and central Europe continue to battle recurring heatwaves.
