Super-Earths are common outside the solar system: Study

A new study showed super-Earths, planets bigger than Earth and smaller than Neptune, are common outside solar system. A team of astronomers announced discovery of a planet about twice the size of Earth orbiting its star farther out than Saturn is to Sun. "This result suggests…in Jupiter-like orbits, most planetary systems may not mirror our solar system," said a co-author.
