India’s first aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, got another breather from the Supreme Court on Monday as it blocked the vessel’s journey to the scrapyard. INS Vikrant was due at the scrapyard on May-17 after it was sold for Rs 60 crore to a Mumbai-based Company. The ship, which was commissioned in 1961, saw action in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
