Supreme Court issues notice to Sanjay Raut over remarks against CJI

Supreme Court issued notices to Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut and journalist Nikhil Wagle asking them to explain why contempt of court proceedings should not be initiated over derogatory remarks against CJI Surya Kant. "When any rights are jeopardised...courts never lagged in protecting [them]," CJI said. The remarks were made after CJI declined to meet Opposition parties' delegation.
