Supreme Court urges Centre to bring a law recognising paternity leave

The Supreme Court on Tuesday urged the Centre to introduce a law recognising paternity leave as a social security benefit. It observed that the duration of the leave must be determined to suit the needs of both parents and child. Paternity leave refers to paid or unpaid leave granted to a father following the birth or adoption of a child.
