Suraj Narredu creates history, becomes 1st Indian jockey to win at Japan Racing Association

Suraj Narredu created history after becoming the first Indian jockey to win a Japan Racing Association (JRA) race at Sapporo Racecourse on August 22. The win came on his second mount during his debut as one of six overseas jockeys selected for the prestigious World All-Star Jockeys 2026. Narredu is also the first Indian jockey to cross 2,500 career victories.
