Sweden plans to send its inmates to prisons abroad

Sweden is planning to send its inmates to prisons abroad to serve their sentences, a government-appointed commission said. The development comes as the country struggles to handle an influx of new inmates arising from a wave of gang crime. Sweden's jails and prisons are full and the Prison and Probation Service said it will need about 27,000 beds by 2033.
