Sweden’s disallowed goal given after cricket-style Snicko check in FIFA World Cup

Mattias Svanberg's goal for Sweden against Tunisia at FIFA World Cup 2026 was initially ruled out for offside after he scored 18 seconds after coming on as a substitute. Sweden argued Alexander Isak had made slight touch before the ball reached Svanberg, who was then onside. VAR used ball-contact technology, similar to cricket's Snicko, to detect touch and overturn decision.
