Swedish blood donors notified when their blood saves life

According to a new initiative in Sweden, blood donors are notified via text messages when their blood is actually used. Donors initially receive a 'thank you' message after donating blood, and receive another message when it is used. The initiative was reportedly launched to "express (donors') importance” and encourage them to donate blood again.
