Swedish EV battery maker Northvolt laying off 1,600 people

Northvolt, the Sweden-based EV battery maker will reduce its global workforce by 20% and also suspend the expansion of one of its flagship plants amid financial struggles. The Northvolt layoffs will affect 1,600 employees from three cities in Sweden as the company focus on energy and investment on its core business.
