Sweets may get 15% costlier this festive season amid sugar, milk price hikes: Report

Sweet prices are likely to rise 10-15% this festive season as sugar, milk and other input costs climb. Sugar prices have jumped over 35%, with retail prices in Maharashtra crossing ₹65 per kg. Lower sugar production and diversion of nearly 30 lakh tonnes for ethanol have tightened supplies. Milk prices in Mumbai also rose ₹9 per litre from September 1.
