Swiss drugmaker to offer 100 doses of world's most expensive drug for free
Novartis has launched a lottery-style programme to give away 100 doses of its $2.1 million-per-patient (₹15 crore) gene therapy Zolgensma for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Zolgensma is the world's costliest single-dose treatment. The Swiss drugmaker will give out 50 doses of the treatment through June 2020 for babies under 2 years old in countries where the medicine is not yet approved.
