Swiss tourist mocks Hindu tradition, calls it 'crazy' in Bali; jailed

A Swiss tourist has been sentenced to one-year jail term in Bali for mocking a sacred Hindu tradition, "Nyepi," or Day of Silence. The 26-year-old filmed himself walking to the beach during the festival and described the tradition as "crazy" while boasting that he defied the restrictions. The tourist was told about the festival's rules when he arrived in February.
