Switzerland forward Breel Embolo broke down in tears after being sent off against Argentina following a VAR review for mistaken identity. Referee João Pinheiro initially booked Argentina's Leandro Paredes for fouling Embolo. VAR ruled Embolo had simulated and awarded him the yellow card instead. Since it was Embolo's second booking, he was sent off. Argentina won 3-1 after extra time.
