Syama Prasad Mookerjee's statue vandalised in Kolkata before 125th birth anniversary

The pedestal of a newly installed statue of Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee was vandalised in North Kolkata before his 125th birth anniversary. The incident occurred just hours before Union Home Minister Amit Shah was scheduled to arrive in the city to lead the birth anniversary celebrations. A person was arrested for allegedly vandalising the statue.
