Syria held 'secret' talks with Hezbollah in Turkiye: Report

Syrian government officials held 'secret' face-to-face talks with Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah in Turkiye last month to de-escalate tensions, Reuters reported. Hezbollah had sent its fighters to fight alongside former President Bashar al-Assad's government during the Syrian civil war. After Assad's ouster in 2024, tensions flared between Syria's new government and the militant group.
