Zahran Alloush (44), commander of Jaysh al-Islam, one of the most powerful insurgent groups in the Syrian capital Damascus’ eastern suburbs, was on Friday killed in a Russian airstrike, according to the Syrian army and rebel sources. Russian aircraft reportedly fired at least ten missiles at secret headquarters of the rebel group having over 15,000 fighters, according to Western intelligence.
