T'gana clears 42% quota for Backward Classes in local body polls

The Telangana Cabinet has approved 42% reservation for Backward Classes in upcoming rural and urban local body elections, to be implemented via ordinance. This follows the Assembly's earlier passage of two acts enabling BC quotas in jobs, education, and polls. The quota is based on data from a caste survey submitted to the BC Commission headed by Busani Venkateshwara Rao.
