Taco Bell lettuce linked to illness causing severe diarrhea in US

US officials linked cyclosporiasis outbreak to shredded iceberg lettuce used by Taco Bell. Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal infection that causes explosive diarrhea. US Food and Drug Administration traced contaminated lettuce to a supplier in Mexico serving Taco Bell outlets in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia. Taco Bell said it has removed the supplier's lettuce indefinitely.
