Taiwan becomes world's 6th-largest stock market, overtakes Canada

Taiwan's stock market has overtaken Canada's to become the sixth largest in the world. The total market capitalisation of companies listed in Taiwan has surged over 35% this year to $4.47 trillion, while in Canada it rose about 5%, Bloomberg reported. Taiwan's rise is linked to the rapid growth of TSMC, which saw its market value rise to $1.8 trillion.
