Taiwan court sentences 5 for up to 10 yrs for theft of TSMC's tech

A Taiwan court sentenced five people for up to 10 years in jail for the theft of semiconductor manufacturing firm TSMC's chip technology. Prosecutors had indicted the five people last year for obtaining TSMC's trade secrets to help Japan's Tokyo Electron gain equipment orders from the former. The court also fined the domestic unit of Tokyo Electron $5 million.
