Taiwan drafts laws to counter China's transnational repression
Taiwan is developing new legal measures, including amendments to the Anti-Infiltration Act, to counter China's alleged transnational repression. This follows the FBI's arrest of suspected Chinese operative Wanying Heather Zhang at Los Angeles airport for allegedly surveilling President William Lai's family. Taiwan's MAC Minister Chiu called for greater cooperation among democratic nations to jointly address Chinese coercion.
