Taiwan opposition leader to make 'peace visit' to China
Taiwan's main opposition leader, Cheng Li-wun, will visit China on Tuesday for a 'peace' mission. She is the first sitting chairperson of the Kuomintang (KMT), Taiwan's largest opposition party, to travel to China in a decade. The country's ruling party shared a post alleging that the KMT was trying to "cooperate with Chinese communists...to weaken Taiwan's defence capabilities".
