Taiwan tests new air defence system amid tensions with China

Taiwan recently conducted a live-fire test of its new Land Sword II air defence system amid ongoing tensions with China. The Land Sword II system, a ground-based, short-to-medium range air defence missile, is designed to replace Taiwan's ageing US-made Chaparral system. Notably, Taiwan has detected 110 Chinese naval vessels and 164 military aircraft so far this month.
