Taj Mahal Hotel was 1st building with electricity in Mumbai

The Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai, which was built in 1903, was the first building in the city to be lit by electricity. The hotel was also the first in the country to house a licensed bar and an all-day restaurant. Tata Group Founder Jamsetji Tata, whose 178th birth anniversary was observed on Friday, commissioned the construction of the hotel.
