Taliban open fires after protest over women's dress code in Afghanistan's Herat

Taliban authorities opened fire on people protesting alleged violations of the women’s dress code in Afghanistan’s Herat on Tuesday. About 100-150 Afghan men gathered to show solidarity with over a dozen women who were arrested last week for appearing in public without a full-face-covering burqa. Security forces reportedly used sticks and whips, injuring a significant number of people.
