Tamil actor-writer Vinu Chakravarthy, who starred in over 1,000 films, passed away at the age of 74 on Thursday. He had been suffering from health-related issues for three years. Known for films like Manithan and Guru Sishyan, Vinu was also instrumental in launching 'Silk' Smitha as she made her debut in the film Vandichakkaram, for which he wrote the script.
