Tamil director Pa Ranjith booked for comments against Chola king

A case was filed against Tamil director Pa Ranjith for allegedly "inciting caste enmity" following his comments against Chola dynasty King Raja Raja Chola during a public event. Ranjith accused the ruler of taking over lands owned by Dalits and handing it over to temples. Hindu Makkal Katchi, a Hindu nationalist party, filed a complaint against Ranjith for his comments.
