Tamil Nadu & Delhi tighten rules for Ganesh idol immersion

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations are seeing stricter rules around idol immersion. Tamil Nadu has told the NGT that it plans to stop Ganesh idol immersion in natural water bodies from 2027. Meanwhile, Delhi has already banned idol immersion in the Yamuna and other water bodies, except at designated sites, and asked devotees to use artificial ponds.
