Tamil Nadu announces ₹3/litre increase in milk procurement price

Tamil Nadu CM Joseph Vijay on Monday announced a ₹3-per-litre hike in the Aavin-milk procurement price, taking it from ₹41 to ₹44 per litre in the state. Vijay said the decision was taken to address dairy farmers’ growing concerns over rising cattle feed costs and maintenance expenses. He stated that the ₹3-per-litre hike will cost state exchequer ₹720 crore annually.
