Tamil Nadu Assembly passes Bill to cap private school fees

Tamil Nadu Assembly has passed the Tamil Nadu Schools (Regulation of Collection of Fee) Amendment Act, 2026, to cap private school fees. Under this, a seven-member committee headed by a retired High Court judge will determine the fee structure. The fees fixed by it will be mandatory for all private schools and will remain valid for three academic years.
