Tamil Nadu Assembly unanimously passes bill to ban hookah bars in state

Tamil Nadu Health Minister M Subramanian introduced a bill in the Assembly to ban hookah bars in the state and it was passed unanimously. Violators will attract imprisonment of up to three years and a fine of up to ₹50,000. The bill gives power to police officers of the sub-inspector rank and above to seize any material from hookah bars.
