Tamil Nadu CM Vijay has resigned as member elected from Trichy East seat, while keeping Perambur seat. The Assembly Secretariat will now notify the seat as vacant, following which, the Election Commission, within a few months, will conduct a by-election to the constituency. Reports had claimed that Vijay is convincing rumoured girlfriend Trisha to join TVK and fight the by-election.
