Tamil Nadu revises auto fares after 13 yrs, minimum fare fixed at ₹50

Tamil Nadu government has revised autorickshaw fares after 13 years, setting the minimum fare at ₹50 for the first 1.8 km and ₹25 per additional kilometre. Night fares between 10 pm and 5 am will be 1.5 times the regular fare. The revision comes after sustained demands from auto drivers' unions, citing rising fuel prices, insurance premiums, and maintenance costs.
