Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam: Tamil actor Vijay forms political party

Tamil superstar, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay has taken a plunge into politics, forming a new party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam. It translates to Tamil Nadu Victory Party. He said the party would skip the 2024 elections and contest the 2026 Assembly elections. Politics for him was “holy public service”, Vijay, a highly paid actor in India with huge fan following, said in Chennai.
