Tariq Mansoor resigns as AMU VC after being nominated as UP MLC

Tariq Mansoor resigned from the post of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice-Chancellor after being nominated as Uttar Pradesh MLC. Pro VC Mohammad Gulrez will temporarily officiate as AMU VC. In a letter to university students and staff, Mansoor said, "I had the opportunity of serving the institution...during good and challenging times." He also thanked AMU community for standing by him.
