Tasmanian devils wipe out 3,000 breeding pairs of penguins on Australian island

A project to preserve endangered Tasmanian devils has led to complete elimination of penguins on an Australian island, a conservation group said. A small number of Tasmanian devils were shipped to Maria Island in 2012. While the Tasmanian devils have recovered since, a population of little penguins that numbered 3,000 breeding pairs has disappeared from the island.
