Tata Group's battery unit Agratas Energy is preparing to manufacture 100% made-in-India lithium cells using its own technology for the first time. It is setting up a pilot line at its Sanand, Gujarat factory, with Indian, South Korean and Chinese engineers working on the process. The move follows difficulties in accessing Chinese technology and is expected to increase development costs.
