Tata Electronics to launch India's first chip fab using older tech: Report

Tata Electronics is set to produce India's first semiconductor wafers using mostly 90-nanometer technology at its upcoming chip fabrication plant in Gujarat, Bloomberg reported. The older chipmaking process is used in industrial equipment and automobiles but is considered less advanced. The shift marks a more modest start than the 28nm technology Tata had earlier planned for its first chip fab.
