Tata Motors’ Jaguar Land Rover to cut up to 500 jobs at SUV factory

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) said on Wednesday that it will fire about 500 employees at its northern England Halewood factory to improve efficiency and cut costs. The decision comes amid a £2.5 billion cost savings drive planned by JLR. The carmaker had announced in 2019 that it plans to cut 4,500 jobs around the world due to fall in sales.
