Tata Power loses $490-million arbitration challenge in Singapore

Singapore International Commercial Court dismissed Tata Power’s appeal against a $490 million arbitration award over an alleged agreement breach with an investor to bid for a Russian coal asset. The court found no breach of natural justice or fair hearing rules by the majority arbitral tribunal. Following the announcement, Tata Power shares hit their lowest level in seven months.
