Tata's iPhone plant in Hosur faces shutdown for polluting farmland water

Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has alleged wastewater discharged from a Tata's components factory for Apple's iPhone has contaminated the ‌groundwater for nearby farms in Hosur, Reuters reported. It has warned of a forced shutdown unless Tata gives a satisfactory explanation. Tata, which is central to Apple's manufacturing push beyond China, said it is in "compliance with regulatory norms".
