Tea from Camellia sinensis plant recognised as healthy by US' FDA
The US' Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recognised tea from the Camellia sinensis plant as a healthy beverage. "We are happy to know that tea derived from Camellia sinensis has got this recognition," Bidyananda Barkakoty, ex-vice chairman of Tea Board of India, said. "Research worldwide has found the health benefits of drinking tea," he added.
