HRD Minister Smriti Irani on Thursday launched a teacher education portal, 'Prashikshak', which aims at bringing quality teachers to Indian schools. The portal has now been launched for district-level teacher training institutes only and will be extended to the block-level in future. Further, the portal will help both the Centre and states to monitor these institutes on a real-time basis.
