Teacher who thrashed student for writing 'Jai Shri Ram' on blackboard in J&K arrested

A government school teacher, who allegedly thrashed a Class 10 student for writing 'Jai Shri Ram' on blackboard, in J&K's Kathua, has been arrested. The teacher, identified as Farooq Ahmad, and the school's principal Mohd Hafiz, who is absconding, allegedly severely beat the boy after which he was hospitalised. Ahmad and Hafiz have both been suspended by the education department.
